The CWNF is always looking for new members and volunteers. Meetings are held once monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Single membership is $25 per year; family membership is $50 each year.
Twin Lakes Nature Preserve is about 50 acres located on Petenwell Lake, part of the Wisconsin River. The Town of Rome hast leased the land from the Wisconsin River Power Company and operated in stewardship by the Central Wisconsin Nature Foundation.
The site has about 6 miles of trails for easy hiking. There is also a sand beach on Petenwell Lake. Easy parking is available, as are picnic tables. A Little Free Library is available. A game camera from Snapshot Wisconsin is located on one of the trails. Access is open to all and free of charge.
iN 2018 AND 2019, a total of 69.76 Acres were donated to the Central Wisconsin Nature Foundation to be set up at the Alt/Bergin Nature Preserve in the Town of Big Flats, Adams County, WI. The property has great potential for us to move forwrd with conservation and natural resource education and hands-on experience. We are in the process of having the ares formallly recognized as a park and conducting an inventory of the property.
