In 2019, the CWNF started working with Ardell Bergin who was seeking a conservation organization willing to accept her donation of two lots of just under 70 acres that had served as recreational property for herself and her late husband, George Bergin. Once the transfer was completed, the CWNF worked with the Town of Big Flats to combine the lots into one, rezone the property as a park, and make the property tax-exempt. Those steps have now been completed.
